Evolution

Who wants to dispute evolution? Perhaps Darwin's theory is correct after all...

After daycare pre-meltdown antics

Sometimes I'm very tired after daycare. I like to whine and carry on when we enter the house. If mommy asks me to come in and have some lunch, I drop down on the floor like a sack of potatos and have a bit of a meltdown. But when mommy picks me up, I give her hugs and kisses and all is well again.

Thanksgiving at the cottage

The bigger house is the cottage, the smaller one the garage.
Although I'm all bundled up here, the weather was warm and sunny the entire weekend!

At the cottage

Fire in the pit!

The nightly fire helped calm me down while I was sick with a head cold and relaxed me enough to put me right to sleep!

Uncle Kevin is the fun uncle...he's got this cool ATV!

Montessori Prepared Environment

This is what the classrooms are called in a Montessori School. There is lots of natural light, and lots of toys and items made with materials taken directly from the natural environment (lots of wood, very little plastic). I like the orderly way every item has been placed in a strategic location that is reachable by even the smallest child.

This classroom was designed with toddlers (up to 3 years) in mind. There is also another classroom that toddlers use, the drop-off location, which looks more like a gymnasium. It has pushtoys, balls, tents, mats and little gyms for climbing.

My first day at school!

Tuesday, September 5 was my first day of school! I only stayed there for the morning, but it was long enough...I didn't cry at drop-off, and I had fun, but I did cry with relief when they came to pick me up!

Mein erster Schultag war am Dienstag den 5. September.
