Priming - malen
Hier steh ich im Büro. Schrank rechts.
Standing in the same spot in the office, with view of the closet again, and the little window leading to the neighbour's driveway.
Hier I'm standing at the bottom of the steps which lead down here. The little window leads to our driveway. The door leads to a closet which is underneath our still unfinished steps that lead to our front door. The steps outside are useable but not complete with the decorative stone. That was halted because of weather.
Hier I'm standing in the same spot again looking more to the left. Andrej is inside the huge linen closet, painting. All our wireless, cable and phone wires are located in this closet. That part of the room is huge, which isn't visible from here, and will be where the TV is located.
This is the view of the steps leading upstairs. The side door leads to the driveway, and another four steps lead upstairs into the main part of the house.
The Pink Tower - Montessori
Benjamin has started going to this tower every day, on his own, to play with it.
First, you take a mat out of the basket and unroll it...
(source: http://www.montessori-namta.org/NAMTA/geninfo/concepts2.html)
The material known as the pink tower is made up of ten pink cubes of varying sizes. The preschool-aged child constructs a tower with the largest cube on the bottom and the smallest on top. This material isolates the concept of size. The cubes are all the same color and texture; the only difference is their size. Other materials isolate different concepts: color tablets for color, geometry materials for form, and so on.
The materials are self-correcting. When a piece does not fit or is left over, the child easily perceives the error. There is no need for adult "correction." The child is able to solve problems independently, building self-confidence, analytical thinking, and the satisfaction that comes from accomplishment.
As the child's exploration continues, the materials interrelate and build upon each other. For example, various relationships can be explored between the pink tower and the broad stair, which are based on matching precise dimensions. Later, in the elementary years, new aspects of some of the materials unfold. When studying volume, for instance, the child may return to the pink tower and discover that its cubes progress incrementally from one cubic centimeter to one cubic decimeter.

Staub - Dust!
This is the big mess that happens when one does the sanding of new drywall.
At the back of the house there used to be an office. This space has now been divided into two smaller rooms. The smaller of the two will function as a bedroom (tiny!) and the other as our office. Hier I've had a chance to clean up already. Priming, then subfloor, then painting, then move in...um...March? I think we're aiming to get it done for March..
Hair - Haar
I also have some frizzy curl on top, which is sticking up in all directions...
The hair at the nape of my neck is almost long enough to tie a nice pink ribbon around it...imagine, my first ponytail!
Who knows what my hair will look like after this falls out and grows back later...
