Funky Hair Day!

Today was the last day of Benjamin's first year at Montessori. They held a "funky hair day".

Heute war Benjamins letzter Schultag bei der Montessori. Alle Kinder kamen mit irrem Haarstyl zur Schule.

Andrej's friend Francesca sells yachts down in Port Credit, a little town along Lake Ontario not far from where we live. During their waterfront festival, she invited us to bring Ben by to look at the boats they had on display. The largest yacht we visited ws 49 feet and cost in the range of a cool half million bucks.

Benjamin liked that one.

No firetruck! Keine Feuerwehr!

Every time I promise him a firetruck, they don't show up! This time, we went to a festival, and the fire department was supposed to display one of their trucks. But for some reason, they never came. Instead, there was a nice police man who offered to let Ben sit in the police cruiser and turn on the lights! That in itself was quite exciting too!

Jedesmal wenn ich Ben verspreche, die Feuerwehr werde eines ihrer Feuerwehrautos den Kindern vorstellen, dann kommen sie nicht! Auch diesmal während eines Strassenfests kamen sie nicht. Dafür aber kam so ein netter alter Polizist herbei und liess ihn im Polizeiauto die Lichter an- und abstellen.

End of school year picnic at Montessori

The school picnic was lots of fun! It was hot and summery but there was a nice breeze to keep things cool. There was pizza and food and a puppet show, and some of the older kids were singing in a choir too!
