Tomaten ernten - harvesting tomatos

Everyday we take the little basket and go harvest whatever is ready in the vegetable garden. The little red cherry tomatos are his favorite...by the time we make it back to the kitchen though, most, if not all, seem to have disappeared! So...no cherry tomatos in our salads these days!

Jeden Tag müssen wir die kleinen Tomaten ernten. Er nimmt sein Körbchen und zeigt mir genau, welche man nehmen darf, und welche man noch lassen muss (they're not ready yet!). Wenn wir dann in der Küche ankommen, hats plötzlich keine Tomaten mehr im Körbchen...

My little cousin

Mein kleiner Cousin Liam in Vancouver hat nun die beiden Hunde kennengelernt, Zoe und Roo. Genau wie ich dazumal schläft er nur den Tag durch!

Liam, my cousin!

Liam Connor Labriola war am 23. Juli 2007 geboren in Vancouver, British Colombia. Jody geht es gut, sie kann am Mittwoch morgen wieder nach hause. Liam ist 7 lbs 14 oz (etwa 3.5 kg) schwer, 20 inches lange (50.8 cm).

Liam Connor Labriola was born on July 23, 2007 in Vancouver. Jody is feeling well and can go home on Wednesday morning. Liam weighs 7 lbs 14 oz (about 3.5 kg), 20 inches long (50.8 cm).

Bello

Sein allerliebster Bello hat er so, Kopf voran, in den Lastwagen gestopft...der arme Bello! Habe ihm dann gezeigt, wie man ihn umkehrt...

This is how he stuffed his favorite Bello into the Garbage Truck. Poor Bello...showed him later how to turn him around.

Climbing to see better...

Vehicles are still more interesting than any of the animals!

It was a nice day, no humidity, and Ben was in a great mood. But he seems a little bit young to appreciate the animals...although he liked the bigger ones, like the elephant, lions, tigers, hippos and rhinos.

But the trucks and utility vehicles the staff uses...well, those were more captivating than anything else. Not to mention the 401 (major highway!)...

Let's just say he had a nice long nap afterwards, and a good night's sleep!

Spaghetti sauce on the BBQ!

Mommy cooked the spaghetti sauce on the barbie tonight. YUM!

Recipe / Rezept: Quick Slow Food

Tired!

Today we went to the swimming pool. I jumped and jumped, and then played with a long foam snake. A little 5 year old boy kept trying to take it away from me, and his daddy wasn't watching him, so I got a little bit possessive. But mommy let me jump some more and then we went home. I was very tired! After my milk, I had to take a nap but didn't want to so I screamed for 10 minutes. After the screaming I snuggled with mommy and then fell asleep 5 minutes later.

Benjamin loves to help out in the garden. He likes watering with the hose, pulling weeds (and plants unless I direct him properly!), and digging in dirt. He especially liked harvesting the Rhubarb, and enjoyed washing the dirt off at the kitchen sink!

Benjamin tut schrecklich gerne gärtnern. Er hilf mir beim wässern, ganz besonders gerne mit dem Schlauch, und zieht auch das Unkraut aus der Erde. Manchmal aber zieht er Salat oder Petersilie heraus, und ich muss ihm dann genau zeigen, was man nicht anfassen darf. Als ich den Rhabarber erntete, wollte er auch unbedingt helfen, und durfte ihn dann ins Haus tragen und in der Küche waschen.
